Opening Doors for Students

The Field Trip Fund provides dedicated funding to public school districts in Vancouver for student field trips focused on arts, culture, heritage, and science. Funding started in the 2026-27 school year.

How the Field Trip Fund Works

Each year, a minimum of 10% of Inspire Vancouver funding is set aside to support public schools. These funds do not require an application and are distributed directly to the school districts.

  • Vancouver and Evergreen Public School Districts receive at least 5% of total revenue from the Cultural Access Tax.
  • Funds help cover field trip costs, including transportation and admission fees.
  • These resources expand access to field trips for all students.

Why We Created the Fund

Access to arts, culture, heritage, and science helps kids grow into curious, capable, and compassionate adults. Students learn to think critically, express themselves, and build confidence. These skills benefit them and their community for a lifetime, no matter what career path they choose.

Field Trips are one of the best ways to build these skills. Students see lessons come alive at museums, theaters, science centers, and cultural sites. Hands-on learning sparks creativity and connection.

The Field Trip Fund helps remove barriers like cost, transportation, or accessibility so more students can participate.

Additional Opportunities

Inspire Vancouver is in ongoing conversations with the schools and local organizations to explore opportunities that will expand student access to arts, culture, heritage, and science experiences.

Starting with the 2027-28 grant cycle, eligible organizations and community educators can apply for School Grants. These competitive grants are separate from the Field Trip Fund and require an application. This additional funding will help community educators offer in-school arts, culture, heritage, and science programming for students.
